At Arthur Rank House we care for terminally ill patients and their families, providing palliative care, practical and emotional help. The Charity’s prime financial responsibility is funding the Day Hospice - providing physical and emotional support and helping to alleviate the anxiety and fear experienced by our patients. Patients and their families have access to professional care, complementary therapies, art & craft activities and the mutual support of fellow patients. There is no NHS funding available for the Day Hospice – the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity is solely responsible for funding this service.

Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) makes sure young cancer patients get the best possible care in hospital and the chance to do all the things that other teenagers do. 2,000 cases of teenage cancer are diagnosed in the UK every year – that’s six today, six tomorrow and every day after. TCT is currently raising funds to build a brand new TCT unit at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. It will cost £2 million to complete. Half of this money will be raised locally. It will be open for cancer patients aged between 13 and 22, from East Anglia and surrounding areas.

The Press Relief charity was founded in 2003, with the aim of using the influence of the Cambridge Evening News and all the other publications within the Cambridge Newspapers Limited group, to its best effect – to help raise cash for local charities. Around £350,000 has been raised so far, and funds have been awarded to many local people in need. Specialist equipment has been provided for individuals and larger grants have been awarded to many charitable organisations
